It looks like some Kinect hacking may very well see itself embedded into the transit systems. I always envisioned people using natural gestures to bring up bus schedules or to even read the news as they wait for a subway or that next bus. Thanks to the open source initiative lead by the Philadelphia transit authority, we may very well start to see this sort of implementation crop up all over if the field testing shows promise. This is one of the coolest interactive displays out there. Using some low level coding and programming, the developers where able to sync up the Kinect's tracking data with a series of light bulbs that illuminate whenever a user is present. The user can then move around freely and see what their silhouette looks like on the lit-up board in real time.
