Kinect Activate 3D - Real Time Natural Expression and Movement in a Virtual Worl

Activate 3D translates, in real time, a player's motion into natural and expressive movements in the virtual world. The most impressive use of Kinect to interact with a virtual 3D environment to date.

A free, open sourced, non-commercial version of their Intelligent Motion SDK is available on their website to try out. It's fully compatible with PC versions of OpenNI and NITE.

"We think that ICM is the next step in taking advantage of Natural User Interface. No longer are you bound by the constraints of one-to-one character mapping or delayed gesture-based interaction. With our technology, we can blend traditional motion-captured animation with live Kinect data and allow you to truly embody your character in a virtual world and leave the constraints of your living room behind."

Watch as you are able to jump and grab onto monkey bars, swing across then, move your arms to initiate forward motions as if you were walking and then climb a rope. A truly impressive feat and a sign of things to come for the open sourced Kinect hacking community.
