If anything, this great short film is more proof that the Kinect sensor is a great means of incorporating motion capture into video. Especially for smaller independent projects on shoe string budgets. The film follows the story of a coder up all night working on a project that comes to life when the programmer falls asleep. The animated character in the film was captured using Kinect tracking data imported into Maya which was then cut and edited and placed into real world environments.
The project took only 10 days to finish and is definitely worth checking out. Some really great work using Kinect as a creative means to adding a lot of flare to your short film. The motion capture scrip is available to download at http://torbensko.com/kinect
