Augmented Reality iPad App Uses Kinect for 3D Real-Time Chat

Check out this cool app that uses the camera from an iPhone or iPad to chat with your friends in real-time 3D. You can create profiles and customize their appearance and seems to work great. The set up process is a bit much but once you're all set, you'll hav a great time changing the viewing angle and perspective of the person you're chatting with in real-time!

The "host user" will need to be running Windows 7 and download the Kinect app (for free) from here. They then will have to give out the public IP address to the "remote user"

The remote user will have to purchase the Kinected app from the Apple App Store and install in on either their iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone. They then create a profile of the user they want to connect with by adding their IP address. You'll also need to download one of the images they have on their site -- located here. Once a connection is established, point the device at the print out and watch as the person on the other end appears in 3D.
